Tuesday seems like the perfect day to introduce you to Amy.
Hello! My name is Amy.
I am a wife, mother of 5 and a licensed educator.
I have always crafted in some way or another and enjoy making lots of DIY items.
In 2007 I began cake decorating and bought my first Cricut machine to cut sugar paste.
About 1 year later I decided to delve into the world of paper crafts.
I've been scrapbooking about 6 years and card making about 5 years.
When I began card making most of my cards went to a non-profit organization
called Operation Write Home who sent handmade cards to soldiers overseas.
I then graduated to participating in challenges, creating a blog
and becoming a design team member for several challenge blogs.
I guess I consider myself an artist; an artist of 12 x 12 and 4.25 x 5.5 canvases.
Today's color challenge is
Let's see how Amy used it.
For this
card I search through my stash of cardstock and DP scraps to find the colors in
the sketch.
I pulled out my card sketch book and used Deconstructed Sketch #42
for inspiration.
The DP comes from The Winter Basics stack by DCWV. Cardstock
used is by Gina K Designs in Blue Denim, Powder Blue, In the Navy, Moonlit Fog
and Pure Luxury White.
To recreate the softness in the picture I chose a stamp
from the Meadow Inkadinkadoo’s stamp set for the focal point, MFT Destressed
Diamonds and a sentiment from Stampin’ Up
called Circle of Friendship. I added
some white ribbon
and a punched piece Moonlit Fog cardstock using EK Success
Round Binding Edge Border Punch.
I used White ink from WPlus9 and Powder Blue
by Gina K Designs ~Amy
Up next is Denise with two great military graduation cards.
When I saw the color challenge, it reminded me of the Air Force colors and since my son and his roommate were graduating from Pilot training, I made cards for them using those colors and red as an accent. The planes were from a 3-D sticker set I purchased and the background was embossed using a Darice folder. ~Denise
Have you played with this color scheme yet? Why not?
There's so much to do with blues and white.
Happy Crafting
