Technique Tuesday

June theme is all about kids
Technique: elevate your diecuts

Today's card combines two fun techniques:  shaving cream and fun foam.
My Little Peep chose the colors and the die.
I created the background using shaving cream and distress oxide reinkers (wilted violet and abandoned coral).  I spread the shaving cream into a flat layer, applied several drops of the ink and swirled with a palate knife. Swirl the colors just enough to create a cool pattern.  I adhered a stencil (Hero Arts) to a watercolor panel (size A2), then applied the shaving cream mixture over the stencil and onto the paper.  Let it sit for about a minute to allow the color to sink into the paper,  Scrape the excess off, remove the stencil and let dry.
When the panel has dried, die cut the panel as shown.  Save all the bits and pieces so that they may be added back in later (inlaid die cut technique). Now we elevate the die cut.  I adhered Ken Oliver "Stick It" double sided adhesive to both sides of a piece of fun foam.  Adhere the panel to a card base.  Add the fun foam and then the die cut sentiment on top.  Add the bits and pieces from the original die cut and call it done.  ~Kimberly
