Card a Day Challenge for November - Mistletoe Monday

Hi everyone,

Welcome back to day 2 of Card a Day Challenge for November! The theme is Thankfulness, colors are muted fall shades, and today is Mistletoe Monday.

Here is my card:

My inspiration for this card came from a video by Gina K Designs on a Faux Vellum technique using her Joy of the Season stamp set (SSS Stamptember release). I LOVE this stamp set and know it will be a holiday favorite of mine. Going back to Gina's Faux Vellum technique (watch her video for details), she used shades of green and brown for her trees and background. I decided to go with colors inspired from a clothing magazine photo.  Here it is below:

I fell in love with these muted, autumn color combinations! So I grabbed my Gina K inks in similar shades and made my trees using the Faux Vellum technique. I placed my pretty trees over a brown shade of card stock that was similar to the vest in the photo (which I may have to purchase now). Then I added white Liquid Pearls all over the card to make it look like snow was falling. I stamped the sentiment in blue to match the blue shirt in the magazine photo. And that was it! I'm happy with how this card turned out and made several of them for my Christmas cards!

See you tomorrow,

Colleen

  1. Great card and I like that color combination. I guess I will have to look through my catalogs again. I am getting a lot this time of year, lol.
