Technique Thursday #38-2016

The final week for our technique of faux metal gives us this beauty from Kim -

I didn't really know what faux textured metal was, but we were given a link to a video showing us a version of it.  Here's my take which uses a digital stamp set from Stampin' Up (retired), "For All You Do".  I printed them in red (and the stem and sentiment in black) and cut them in my Silhouette.  I coated them with VersaMark and brushed Perfect Pearls on top.  Then I matted them on Basic Black card stock.  Then I cut a piece of Whisper White card stock and colored direct to paper with my Real Red ink and brushed that with Perfect Pearls as well.  I wiped off the excess on all pieces.  I embossed the inked panel with the Oriental Weave embossing folder and attached that to a black mat as well.  I colored two sized pearls with Copics black and attached them to the flower centers.  Everything was attached to a Whisper White card stock base.  The sentiment is from the same stamp set.  I've included a second picture of the card front from a different angle so you can see the faux textured metal better.  Kim from Katydid Cards.

Even though the technique was the same for the designers the past 5 weeks, we have some really different looks, so go look at the past Thursday's and have a go at it yourself.-

  1. Oops, that's not my faux metal card. This card was for my Saturday challenge.

    1. I guess I should have paid better attention to the description and if it matched the card. Sorry about that.
