Card Sketch Wednesday #25-2016

Card sketches make it easy to put a card together, but still come up with different looks.  This is the sketch that was the inspiration for today.

Let's start with Robbie -

Sketch challenges are a great way to create if you are struggling!  All supplies are Stampin’ Up.  For the sketch challenge I chose to use a Very Vanilla card base and the Moroccan Designer Series paper.  I cut a piece of Emerald Envy card stock and tore one edge.  I applied it to the card base  along the left hand side using Snail adhesive.  I cut a piece of the Emerald Envy pattern in the designer series paper and applied it to the card stock.  I used some Moroccan washi tape to address the horizontal strips on the card.  I cut another pattern in the Moroccan Designer Series paper and mounted it onto a piece of Early Espresso card stock.  Using Snail adhesive attach this panel to the left hand side of the card front.  Create a flag using Delightful Dijon card stock and the Banner Triple punch and glue it to the left hand side of the card stock.  Stamp the sentiment from the Fresh Fruit stamp set with Emerald Envy onto a piece of Very Vanilla card stock.  Punch out using the 1 3/8” circle punch.  Use the 1 ½” circle punch and Emerald Envy card stock to punch another circle.  Layer the 2 circles and attach to the card front using dimensionals.  Now you have a great Thank You card to send out. ~ Robbie

Now here is Kim with another look from the same sketch.

My brand new Newton's Nook - Newton Loves Coffee Stamp set is PURRFECT for this challenge!  I stamped him with Versafine Onyx Black Ink on watercolor paper.  The images are colored with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers...Bright Yellow, Orange, Light Carmine, Pink, Violet, Medium Brown and Light Grey.  The sentiment is stamped on Neenah Solar White cardstock in Versafine Onyx Black Ink.  The coffee beans are stamped in Memento Rich Cocoa. The images and brown cardstock were die cut using Stampendous Fitted Frames A and B.  The banners and scalloped edge were cut using Lawn Fawn Dies.  I trimmed brown cardstock to 4 1/4" by 5 1/2".  I trimmed a smaller piece of lightly patterned cardstock to 3"x 5 1/4".  The sparkle paper is from Paper Cut and cut to 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" and die cut with the scalloped die.  The banners are die cut from patterned paper.  Assemble the card as shown.  I used white fun foam to pop up the cat image.  I used foam adhesive squares to pop up the banner on the left side of the card.  Adhere to an A2 sized card base and call it done.

Both are such great cards.  I hope you will take inspiration from the sketch and put a card together quickly. - Denise
