Mistletoe Monday #17-2016

This month's
(that's right we are going to do the same challenge for
MM all month long, as we want to feature all the DT members with this one.)
 Mistletoe Monday Challenge
is to create a holiday card featuring NON-traditional colors.
So no, red and green or blue and white.

Think WAY OUTSIDE the box!

Let's see what Gracie & Denise came up with.

Ok...no red, green, blue or white.  Time for a thinking cap ladies!
I die cut snowflakes in coral, orange, and sea foam green and mounted
them on brown  card stock  and placed them on a white card base.
I die cut Merry Christmas  in brown also.
Added some rhinestones  to give it a little Christmas  sparkle! ~Gracie

I had purchased a package of mat paper on clearance from Oriental Trading Company.  When they came, the colors  of the papers were mauve and olive instead of the traditional Christmas Green and Red.  It was perfect for this challenge since I loved pairing the mauve papers with a navy background.  I used several patterns cutting them with a hexagon die in my Cuttlebug being sure to center some of the images and sentiments, then glued them on the dark blue card base leaving space between them.  I stamped the sentiment on the banner with a blue ink and embossing ink, then embossed it with clear embossing powder. – Denise Sayers

  1. Nice job Gracie. It has sort of a tropical Christmas feel.

  2. Way to go ladies. Certainly non-traditional colors, but definitely says Christmas!
