This month's Saturday Inspiration is a
Tic Tac Toe Challenge
I opted to use Ribbon, Colors: Yellow & Gray and Birthday. I wanted something whimsical, so I decided upon this birthday chick. Doesn't she put a smile on your face by donning those spectacles? This card was made using a cut file from the Silhouette Store. I cut the base from Stampin' Up's Basic Gray card stock. I wanted bright patterns for the chick's body and glasses, so I opted to use Stampin' Up's digital Villa DSP in So Saffron for the body and wings, Grid in Basic Gray and Small Polka Dot in Dusty Durango.
I attached the body directly to the card, on the wings I applied adhesive to the tops and dimensionals to the ends. I attached the glasses with mini glue dots and her beak and feet with dimensionals. The little bow is Stampin' Up, too. Inside, I wanted to reference the chick and I think it works well. Notice the card opens in an unusual way...with the fold on the bottom.
As an aside, Stampin' Up has discontinued their digital products, but that doesn't stop me! If I purchase a DSP that I particularly love, I scan it into my computer and have it to use when my supply runs out and never have to worry about it retiring. I also scan in my stamps after getting a good crisp image...then I can manipulate the size of my images for future use. ~Kim from Katydid Cards
I seem to detect a theme here. So far all the designers have chosen the same column
to design with. Will that remain the case? Tune in next Saturday to find out.
We'd love to see what you do with this challenge.
Post your card to social media and tag us #CADCBlog.
Your card just might be featured on the blog.
Happy Crafting
