Anything Goes Friday #4

For today's card challenge, I thought I'd challenge you to just go create.  It doesn't matter what or how.  Doesn't even need to be a card.  Just create.  Sit down and doodle or bake a cake and decorate it or scrapbook a page or two.  Make a flower arrangement.

I just want you to do something creative today.

My creative time took me to CASE a card by Catherine Pooler.  I created this
super cute (if I do say so myself) card.  What will you create?

Technique Thursday #4

Today's challenge is a spin-off of Sunday's Clean and Simple cards.

I created these one layer cards using just ink, some tape and few stamps and some Stampin' Up White Embossing Powder and my heat gun.

These were cased from a card I found on Pinterest.

Color Challenge Tuesday #4

Today's color challenge is a fun one.  That's right it is black & white.

I know what your thinking, "That is boring," but I here to tell you it doesn't have to be.

Check out these gorgeous samples from Pinterest.

Just in case you can't handle only black & white, maybe add just a tiny splash of color like these Pinterest examples.

Now I don't know about you but these cards are stunning.  So your challenge for today, go forth and find the black & white in your life and make a card that isn't boring.

Mistletoe Monday #4

Today's challenge is to create a holiday card that uses snowmen.

My card is a one layer card. I used a clear Wink of Stella pen as a water brush and some Bashful Blue
Stampin' Up ink to color in the snowman's scarf and hat and a Memento ink for the nose.

If you haven't tried using your WOS pen as a water brush you need to try it.  It gives awesome sparkle while
giving you a lot of control of where to put the ink.

Check out this video by Jennifer McGuire for more on how to do this technique.

Special Folds/Shapes/Sizes Saturday #3

Today's challenge is to create a Twisted Card.

Here is a YouTube video tutorial by Kelly from the Always Stampin blog to get you started.

Now on to my examples...

This turtle cutie is gets his color from colored pencils.  What you can't see from the picture is that
he is mobile.  I used an Action Wobble Spring to pop him up.
I used two sheets of patterned paper and a little ribbon to complete the card.

This one is pretty simple just two sheets of patterned paper for the card, a third pattern for the sentiment
and a couple of little tiny strips of yellow cardstock for the accent.

I hope you give this card a try.  It is pretty fun to make and your friends and family will wonder, "Just how did she do that?"

Don't forget to upload your cards to the Flickr Gallery.

Anything Goes Friday #3

Today's challenge is to find a FREE coloring page or digital stamp online, print it out and color it in using whatever medium you have.  You could use Copic (or other alcohol based markers), colored pencils, watercolors, inks or crayons for that matter.  Use what you have!

Check out my Pinterest board if you are stumped on where to find these wonderful freebies.

Now on with the projects...

This image came to life using colored pencils.
I actually used the computer to print the sentiment too.
I inked the edges of the layers just a bit.

The rest of these cards were colored with Copic markers.

Hope you've found a little inspiration to use the freebies available on the big world wide web to make your crafting dollars go a further.

Don't forget to upload your card pics to the Flickr Gallery.

Here's a YouTube video by Tim Holtz from Ranger to give you a heads up on how these inks work.

Here's a few samples from my play time with alcohol inks.

Card Sketch Wednesday #3

Color Challenge Tuesday #3

Today's color challenge is put-on-your-shades BRIGHT, but doesn't it make you think spring?

Orange is my favorite color, so this color palette is right up my alley and I don't know about you, but I'm getting tired of winter.

Just a little card stock and some white embossing powder is all it took to
create this quick and easy color blocked card.

This one layer card was created using only Washi tape, StazOn ink
and a great sentiment stamp.

Mistletoe Monday #3

Today's challenge is to use your embossing folders to create your holiday cards.

Here are a few cards to inspire you.  You don't have to get to fancy when you have all that wonderful texture to build on.

By the way, do a little stamping on your envelopes too, for that little something special.

Don't forget to upload your card pics to the Flickr Gallery.
