Welcome to A Year of Card Techniques Blog Hop where each month we feature a different card technique. We’ve assembled a team of card makers who range from new to advanced, so you’ll see a great variety of cards and ideas.
There’s just something about interactive cards!  And Waterfall Cards are among the best interactive card techniques.  They look intricate, though, so we’ll let you in on any hints we uncover along the way.   Hopefully, we’ll inspire you to try one for yourself.

Gracie on our design team shows us three great cards.

I had so much fun making these cards!  This is the 1st time I have tried a waterfall card.  The first card with the angels is made using 2 Raison Boat stamp sets.  The stamps are colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  This was a case of measure twice to cut once!  I used an embossing folder from Darice as a panel and cardstock from Recollections. The second card was made using a new stamp set from Whimsey Stamps.  They also were colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I placed them on paper from Simple Stories Hello Fall collection. The third card was made using a digital stamp set from Bugaboo stamps and the sentiment is from Art Impressions.  The cats were also colored with Spectrum Noir markers.  I am unsure where the paper came from - it has been in my stash for a while! - Gracie

 Denise also has three cards.

A couple of years ago, I did the waterfall cards for all of my family's birthdays.  Here are three of them.

This card used a lot of cuts from my Cricut. I mostly used the Life is a Beach cartridge.
Front

I made a lot of "sea" jokes for a 6 year old who loved mermaids.

This card was inspired by the song about monkeys jumping on the bed.  I played around with the strip holding the flip to look like a bed and used a punch on the bottom to mimic a bed skirt. It took some playing around to keep the wall paper and bedspread in place as the flips took place, but it turned out pretty good.  The monkeys were cut with my Cricut along with the bed posts.

And finally all the monkeys are off the bed.

A more sophisticated card.

Who doesn't love to compare age to wine?  Sorry for the quality of the pictures because I just snapped pictures as I made them not knowing I would be posting them online a few years later. - Denise

Now you’re off to visit with Debbie. Hope you had fun and thanks for stopping by. See you next month with another technique!
