Inspiration Saturday #18-2017

Our photo inspiration today calls to mind both April showers and May flowers.

The  crystal raindrops in Gracie's card are just adorable.

This card called for my Silhouette again to die cut the boots. I had the die for the cloud and scalloped circle.  I attached flowers to the boots and used clear hot fix stones to make rain drops.  I printed the sentiment on my computer.  I made a card base out of some patterned cardstock.  I managed to do all my cards this week without using any stamps!  That is a first! ~ Gracie

My rainy day card -

I chose an image from the cartridge called Nate's ABC's and sized it to fit a 6 x 6 square card.  When cutting it out on my Explore, I used a light blue cardstock for the base cut and used Oracle outdoor vinyl for boots and umbrella so that it was shiny just like real boots. The top of the cattail was cut using a suede-like material which gave it some nice texture. I embossed a darker gray-blue card stock using a Fiskars texture plate that has a raindrop pattern on it. The texture plates make a more subtle pattern than most embossing folders, but while it doesn't photograph as well, it looks very nice in person.  The sentiment is from a Unity set called Grey Skies Happy.  - Denise
