Our technique for today is is a fun one called paper piecing. Tutorials on how to do this can be found here and here.
This stylish lady done by Tantalaya is perfect for this technique -
Today's card is focusing on Paper Piecing. I used the Julie Nutting Rita
stamp. I colored her in with Spectrom Noir Markers and I stamped her on the
pattern paper and used the matching die cut to cut out her dress and hat to
match. I then took a grey marker to make the dress look more apart of the
original stamped image. Her dress and hat are from the main paper pad that I
have been using all week. and I attached her to a 5" x 7 1/2" card
and stamped a sentiment in the upper right corner. To finish this card off I
used the Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.- Tantalaya
My paper piecing was pretty simple -
I used the same paper for the side and for the skirt of my stamped image to give it a coordinated look. This particular image has a skirt that is easy to fussy cut after stamping it. I used Spectrum Noir on the rest of the image. I also love this stamp called Remi Girl by Unity because you can add any sentiment you want to the "sign" she is holding. This one came from another set I had. You should try paper piecing since it is kind of like playing with paper dolls, but you can use it on other images too with some great results. - Denise
Paper piecing is one of my favorite techniques...although it's a lot of work and fussy cutting, it's also a lot of fun. Your cards are both great!
