Today's Clean & Simple Challenge:
Wedding or Briday Shower Cards
Time to welcome two more wonderful ladies as Guest Designers
to CADC Blog.
First up today, is Paulyne VanderSloot.
I have been paper crafting for about 20 years. I started like many others, scrapbooking pictures. I started when a co-worker invited me to a Creative Memories party. It took me 6 months to finish my first page. Since then I have done several albums including about a dozen memory books of my Father for family members. And like other paper crafters, it led me to stamping and card making. I love it. It is very relaxing and I can sit and do it for hours. I have to say working with these challenges has made me think outside the box and has got my creative juices flowing. I am enjoying every minute of it.
I live in the Seattle area with my significant other Helmut, and he is my biggest fan. I have 4 wonderful children and a wonderful step-daughter. Together we have 10 grandchildren. By day I am a Corporate Credit Manager for a manufacturer and supplier of brick, pavers and other masonry supplies. I deal with dealers, distributors and contractors, which makes my job interesting and rewarding.
The card was made with my Hero Arts April Kit. The embossed back ground is a Darcie embossing folder. I embossed the stamp image 4 times and used soft colors to paint the flower and leaves with watercolors. I used the matching dies to layer the flower and give it dimension. The sentiment is a Recollections stamp embossed with Silver embossing powder on vellum. ~Paulyne
Next we welcome Tantalaya McKinney.
My name is Tantalaya McKinney and I started paper crafting 8 years ago. I started with a small group at my church and it took off like a bandit. Recently this past year after being laid off from work I started to step out more in the crafting community. I started my own YouTube channel and blog. It has been a slow climb learning new things and getting an idea of what it even means to be a blogger. I do mostly card making videos and every now and then I will share planner videos, but lately I am on DIY organizing and I love doing mini scrapbooks. I also like to play with mixed media but I am still learning and getting a feel for this style of crafting. I love to hang out on Google hangouts with my crafty friends while we create and give each other inspiration. I have also started teaching with my local crop group and every year we have been doing special projects together from scrapbooks to folios. all in all I am proud to say I am a crafter who loves anything paper related and I am excited to learn more and to continue to grow. Stamp set is "Love & Laughter by Stampin' Up!, Pattern paper by DCWV, Black cardstock from Bazzill, Memento black ink, and white ribbon from stash. I made a standard A2 size card. 2 pieces of white card stock cut to 2.25" x 3.5", 2 pieces of pattern paper cut to 2" x 3.25", 1 piece of black cardstock (matches base) cut to 2.5" x 4", and 1 piece of white cardstock for focal piece cut to 2.25" x 3.75". Then attach the pattern paper to you 2 white cardstock pieces. Next I stamped my focal piece and sentiment then I attached it to the black cardstock piece. Once I had it attached I punched 2 hole on either side of dress and then pulled ribbon through starting from the front. Once three pieces are complete, then you attach the pattern paper to the top left and bottom right on the card front. when I attached the focal piece I added pop dots or foam tape to give some dimension and it lays better because of ribbon. ~Tantalaya
I heat embossed my sentiment finished it off with some
paper and mounted it on to a card base.

ReplyDeleteThank you so much!!!!
DeleteBeautiful cards ladies. The use of velum for the sentiment is a great idea and the three layers really spotlight the wedding gown. Welcome to the challenge.
