Mistletoe Monday #34

Today's Mistletoe Monday Challenge is to create a card based on Rockin' around the Christmas Tree
and Anna certainly rocked it!

Rocking Around The Christmas Tree

When I hear this song I think of one of my favorite Christmas movies
Home Alone.  So I tried to make this card from the burglar's point of view.

Not sure if you can see it or not but he has strings going to the silhouettes in the background,
just like Keven did in the movie.

I found a paper that resembled what was on the house in the movie, and paper that looked like hardwood to resemble the flooring. Once I had everything arranged I cut strips of embossed brick paper to fit around the background (Craft Smth - Embossed Neutrals) to make it look like the outside of the house. I glued the black background and white window together and added acetate (a cartridge box wrapper) to the back side to make it look like glass.
I then built up 3 layers of adhesive foam tape strips on the back side of the window, for a 3D effect, turned it over and laid it on the card.  I also used a thinner pop dot on the dancing man, and extra thick ones on "Kevin"

I didn't like that there wouldn't be enough contrast with the snow so I used a bit of QQ Feather Gray to dirty up the "Paint"
I added Liquid pearls to the snow on the windows and after that dried I went over it with clear wink of stella.

On the inside I used the Hanna Montana font and wrote the greeting, cut out music notes from the same cart in glitter
paper and glued those on.

It took me about 5 hrs to finish and about 1 hour to design!

I used the following Cut files and a 5 x 7 card.

Window -  #M40D3B
    Tree            #MC3BAA  (print only)
Dancers -    #M3FE63
     Boy -         #M42BB0

  1. WOW Anna! Great job. I hope you use it again after spending all that time to design it. It should go more quickly next time, but I know part of the satisfaction is just going through the process to see if you can make your vision work out.
